See if you qualify for Extra Help

What’s that?

Medicare beneficiaries can qualify for Extra Help paying for their monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and co-payments related to Medicare prescription drug coverage.

We estimate the Extra Help is worth about $5,100 per year. To qualify for Extra Help, you must be receiving Medicare and have limited resources and income. You must also reside in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.

Don’t qualify for Extra Help- Saving money on prescriptions may still be available for you

There are a few prescription discount programs that may help you save money on certain prescriptions. This is not always the case, so please check the prices with your insurance company before using these resources. We recommend you check your prescriptions on all of the savings programs because you never know which one will be the least expensive.

Most pharmacists should be willing and able to help you find the lowest price for your prescriptions. If they are not doing this, we recommend finding a pharmacist who does. They are out there and are extremely helpful!

When you use programs like this, the cost of the prescriptions doesn’t count toward getting in the coverage gap/donut hole. This can be very helpful for some people.
